FRIDAY, OCT. 17TH - SPIRIT DAY

You are REQUIRED to attend and CHEER at the homecoming game. You must have your uniform, bow, shoes, pom-poms, sweatshirt, warm-up jacket and pants, in order to cheer. You WILL cheer the entire game...so be prepared!!!!
I will give you more details on what to wear to school on Friday and what time you need to be places on Friday.
Plan to stay after school today!!!!

EVERYONE needs to bring in another pack of 2" MASKING TAPE. We are out and have nothing to tape our run-thru's with!!!!!
Plan on leaving between 4:45 - 5:00. THE BUS WILL LEAVE WITHOUT YOU!!!!! Missing the bus will count as an UNEXCUSED absence!!!!! I will let you know the EXACT time as soon as I find out.
REMEMBER - You MUST be picked up from our AWAY games at 7:20. NO EXCUSES!!!

KMHS will NOT be providing transportation for you home after our AWAY games. Your ride MUST be at the game to pick you up by 7:20....so plan ahead!!!!

Octover 9th @ East Paulding High School

PARENT'S....WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!! We need parents (WITH TRUCKS OR SUV'S) to volunteer to take the run-thru poles home with them after our away games and bring them back to KMHS the following Tuesday before/during/after practice. FYI: our poles are 15 ft. long. If we do not have someone to take the poles home....we won't be able to bring the run-thru's!!!!

Everyone received 10 BBQ tickets yesterday at practice. Remember....you are REQUIRED to sell 5 of them....but try to sell all 10!! Each ticket is $7...so EVERYONE should be turning AT LEAST $35 on SEPTEMBER 23. You MUST turn in any UNSOLD tickets at this time.

MANDATORY RAFFLE FUNDRAISER!!!!!!

MOUNTAIN CHEER CLASSIC RAFFLE

RAFFLE – THIS IS A MANDATORY FUNDRAISER !!

Each child is responsible for turning in at least one item with a minimum of 20.00 value. The item can be donated from a local business or you can purchase a restaurant gift card or merchant gift card. There is plenty of time for the girls to get donations from local businesses.

We will compile a list of all 50 items. We will draw the raffle tickets during the Mountain Cheer Classic on October 4th. There will be at least 50 chances to win.

The cheerleaders will sell the raffle tickets at the football games and we will also set up a table and sell them at the competition. They will be given a sheet with all the raffle items on it and will sell the tickets for 1.00 each.

The deadline for turning in raffle items is Monday September 9TH. Please make sure to put your name on the item you are donating, so I can mark you off the list.

Here are some examples of items you can get donated….or you can purchase

A round of golf, a one month tanning membership, a nail salon gift certificate, a car wash or oil change, a restaurant gift card, Tickets to a sporting event, basket of items from bath and body works, starbucks card, Blockbuster Gift Card. If you go to a restaurant, tanning place, or nail salon on a regular basis….it is usually easy to get them to donate something of a 20.00 value.

It is EXTREMELY important that you BE ON TIME, LISTEN, and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Since we are the first squad going, we will set the pace for the other two squads waiting on us.

WHAT ABOUT OUR RUN-THRU'S?
Make sure you and your "team" are getting your assigned run-thru's painted. Our first game is Sept. 4th vs. Harrison. I will expect ALL run-thru's to be painted by this day!

WHEN WILL I GET MY UNIFORM?
I will distribute uniforms at our first practice, Aug. 12th. Meet in my room, 625, immediately after school.

Remember we will be painting, so please wear clothes you wouldn't mind got paint on them. But let's try to keep it on the walls!

Fashion Show

ALL cheerleaders are invited to participate in the "Taste of Acworth" fashion show for Divas and Dames. The fashion show is in Acworth on Saturday, October 20 at 2pm. Each participant will receive a $50 gift card to Divas and Dames. You will have to go by the store one day the week before the show to be fitted for the outfit you will be modeling. You will also receive community service hours for participating.

Any interested cheerleader should come by Coach Smith's room before Friday, October 12 to register.

I want to start off by saying that I am so proud of each and every one of you. You did an amazing job at camp!! We have to think of somewhere to put our ribbons and awards.

Just a few reminders:

Aug. 1 - Mandatory practices begin!!!! Report to the gym by 10am and be sure you check in with Coach Gilliam for attendance. Practice ends at 3pm. You should plan to begin making run-thrus. Our first game is against the Marietta Blue Devils and our second game is against the Hillgrove Hawks. That should be enough to keep you busy until I can see you again.

Aug. 2 - Report to the cafeteria at 8:00am for your Freshman orientation. Please be on time! The orientation ends at 12:00pm. Please report to the gym by 1:00 and check in with Coach Gilliam for attendance. Continue to work on your signs from yesterday.

There are still a few girls who have not turned in money for paper. The cost is $4. Please give your money to one of the coaches and ask them to give it to me.

IN A SERIES OF SCHOOL SPONSORED FIELD TRIPS

I hereby request that (Student’s Name-PLEASE PRINT): be allowed to participate in athletic team, band, orchestra, chorus, and/or any series of field trips related to one particular area of study or activity. I understand that transportation may or may not be provided by the Cobb County School District (District). In the event transportation is not provided by the District, transportation will be the student’s responsibility.

Detailed trip information, including destination, date, time of departure, time of return, purpose, and supervision, should be given in writing to the parents at least two (2) weeks prior to each trip in the series.

The District does not or may not carry any insurance relative to the trip, including the cost of the trip, or for injuries to the student. I represent that the student has insurance either through the student accident insurance offered by the District or through my own insurance carrier.

If any emergency medical procedures or treatment are required by the student during the trip, I consent to the trip supervisor(s) taking, arranging for, and consenting to the procedures or treatment in his/her or their discretion.

I agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Cobb County School District (District), its Board of Education, and its employees, agents, or assignees, as well as its approved adult trip supervisors (“District Indemnitees”) from and forever promise not to sue them on any and all claims, demands, rights, causes of action, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), whether known or unknown, that I, any other parent or guardian of the above-named student, or the student may have or may allege to have against the District Indemnitees or which may be brought against the District Indemnitees arising out of or in any manner relating to the student’s participation in the field trips, including but not limited to the rendering of emergency medical procedures or treatment.

I agree that my child will ride home from away basketball games with me or another designated parent only. I accept all responsibility for my child’s transportation home from away basketball games. I agree for my child to ride home from away basketball games with the following parents:

Just a few reminders as we get our season started:

1. Manditory Cheer Chat on Monday, Nov 27 in room 218 - refreshments will be served at 3:45pm and meeting starts at 4pm and will last about 1 hour.

2. Our first game is this Friday at South Cobb. We will be leaving right after school with the JV bus. We will cheer the 4:30pm JV game and the 6pm Frosh game then you will be dismissed to ride home with YOUR PARENTS!!! We will not ride the bus home so make sure you have a ride.

Hello Ladies!

First, I just wanted to say I appreciate everyone being cooperative with Coach Stone this past week, I was very sick and I could not attend practice. Everyone looked great for pictures on Friday. Some of you mentioned about taking individual pictures on the football field. If you still want individual pictures on the field, please let me know so arrangements with Lifetouch can be made. Some other things you have questions about:

Captains: I will continue to watch you all practicing. I will make notes of what I see. Before the first game I will have you guys nominate 2 people and then I will make a final decision.

Uniforms: As for now the uniforms you have will be the uniforms you will wear for the basketball season until further notice. I will let you know when things have changed.

Monday - I am not sure if girls Lacrosse is conditioning on Monday, however, I will not be there.

Tuesday - NO PRACTICE! Have a great TURKEY HOLIDAY!

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27 - THERE IS A MANDATORY CHEER CHAT WITH KMHS GUIDANCE. PLEASE REPORT TO ROOM 218 AT 4PM.

Monday - Conditioning with the Girls Lacrosse Team. Conditioning starts at 3:45pm. DON'T BE LATE!!! We will meet at the field behind the baseball field.

Tuesday - Practice with JV BB. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR WHAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY THE COACH. Practice is 3:45 - 5:15pm. Wear - Mustang shirt w/ black shorts.

Wednesday - No practice. ALL POINSETTA FUNDRAISING MONEY IS DUE TO COACH SHAW. PLEASE TURN IN AT PRACTICE ON TUESDAY!!Or, You can turn it to me in Room 218 by Wednesday morning.

Thursday - Practice with JV BB. Practice 3:45 - 5:15pm. Wear - Tank trimmed in green(wear shirt underneath) w/ green shorts.

Friday - Yearbook pictures. Freshman cheerleaders will be taking pictures at 3:45pm sharp!!! DON'T BE LATE! Make sure to bring your uniform, ribbons, and payment envelope (I'll give the envelopes out on Thursday). Please report to the BIG gym.

Here is the plan for this week... Nov. 6 - 10.

Monday - I have arranged to have you all condition with the Lacrosse team. It's not required, however it is HIGHLY encouraged. You need to start to build up your endurance for the basketball season. It's a LONG season and you have to cheer TWO games. The conditioning will be at the Lacrosse field (the field behind the baseball field) and will start promptly at 3:45pm ... DON'T BE LATE! I will take note of who is showing up for conditioning. Please wear something warm and comfortable.

PLEASE REMEMBER THERE WILL BE A BOOSTER CLUB MEETING AT 7PM IN THE CAFETERIA ON MONDAY. THERE WILL NOT BE A CHEER CHAT ON MONDAY, NOV. 6. THE NEXT CHEER CHAT IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27 @ 4PM IN ROOM 218.

Tuesday - No school, No practice.

Hello Ladies,

It's been confirmed. The region playoffs will be Thursday at KMHS and we are playing Marietta! The game will start at 6:30pm. Let's make this last game the best!!!!!

Here's the run down for the week...

Monday - Practice as usual. Wear what you like because we are going to start painting the run thru.

Wednesday - Practice. Same as Monday.

Thursday - Meet in Room 218, as usual. We will discuss what we are wearing at practice.

That's it ladies!!!! It been a wonderful season! I have enjoyed every minute of it! But, it's not over for you guys. You have basketball season coming up! In fact, you will start practice for basketball, next week (Nov. 6 - 10). Practice will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will be practicing with the Varsity and JV squads to learn the basketball cheers.
